As our business performance continues to grow, we also strive to make contributions to the land we grew up on. By upholding the principle of “giving back to society what has been taken from society,” BizLink has spread our benevolence and affection with concrete actions and embraces society, with a view to fulfilling CSR and contributing to the common good in society.
In 2021, BizLink’s locations worldwide donated a total of NT$9,554,896 to charities, a 46% increase from 2020. In the future, we will continue to uphold a positive attitude and participate in social care activities, thereby spreading love to every corner of the world and fulfilling our duties as global corporate citizens.
Love knows no borders or boundaries, and BizLink is committed to children's welfare and medical services. We continue to support nonprofit organizations including the UNICEF, World Vision, Doctors without Borders, and the construction of ER and ICU at Washington Hospital in the United States, as well as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN), UCSF Children's Hospital, Smile Train cleft charity, the Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland, and the Tzu Chi Foundation. In addition, we are also dedicated to community service and support those in-need with love. We provide food, necessities, and assistance to immigrant communities from Mexico and Central America, in particular those from low-income families and youths, and assist in their occupational, vocational, and educational developments.
The Rocket R&D Project in collaboration with the Advanced Rocket Research Center, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University
BizLink also supports aerospace technology R&D as well as talent development in this field. We have been sponsoring the rocket R&D team chaired by Professor Jong-Shinn Wu of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NCYU) and consists of students from the Mechanical Engineering Department of NYCU, Department of Electronic Engineering in National Taipei University of Technology, and the Department of Engineering Science, National Cheng Kung University. In 2021, BizLink further sponsored this team and enhanced the collaborative ties between the two parties by branching into rocket R&D and assisting the development of cables in the body of the rocket. The prototype has completed reliability tests including tensile tests and others one by one, and the two parties are actively discussing subsequent collaborative models and technical exchange in order to support the development of Taiwan's own small satellite bus. BizLink will continue to keep abreast of the development of aerospace technology in Taiwan and provide professional assistance in signal transmission.
Protection of marine ecosystems
In terms of protecting the marine biodiversity in Taiwan's waters, BizLink sponsored NT$500,000 toward Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation's "Hualien Cetacean Ecology Research Project" in 2021 to support the research on cetacean ecology and habitat in Hualien. By analyzing and staying abreast of the hotspots for cetaceans in the open sea off the coast of Hualien, an AI system could be developed via photo ID to accelerate the cetacean identification. Furthermore, individual cetacean photos could be used in analyzing "surface scar" in order to think of ways to manage manmade threats and to work toward the vision of peaceful coexistence with the cetaceans.
The research results are compiled and regularly provided to the public sector in each year as reference data in formulating policies related to protecting marine biodiversity, as well as to apply for certification in Important Marine Mammal Areas (IMMAs) in order to contribute toward the protection of the ocean.
Bridging the gap in urban-rural education
By partnering with Lovely Taiwan Foundation, BizLink Group is offering an annual NT$2,000,000 donation for three years to promote the "Blue-sky Classroom".We are collaborating with 11 elementary schools in remote areas in Miaoli, Nantou, New Taipei City, and Tainan City, in which the dance studio from Cloud Gate Dance Theater is invited to teach an innovative course containing martial arts and rhythm, so that the children could enhance their critical thinking skills by learning more about their bodies and movements. This learning could nurture their creativity and communication skills, thereby bridging the gap in resources between urban and rural education.
