Product Engineer
Responsible for the design, development, and support of cable assemblies and wire harness products. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to ensure our products meet high standards of performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop cable assemblies and wire harnesses based on customer requirements and specifications.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation using CAD software.
- Select appropriate materials, connectors, and components for cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
- Perform simulations and analyses to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
- Lead and manage projects from concept through production, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cable assemblies and wire harnesses into products.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these metrics.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the production of cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to design, materials, or processes that arise during production.
- Implement design changes and process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure products meet required standards.
- Conduct testing and validation of cable assemblies and wire harnesses to ensure they meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
- Work with quality assurance teams to address non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and components for cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain and address any issues that arise.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all designs, processes, and testing activities.
- Ensure products comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cable assembly and wire harness design and development.
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English; Mandarin is a plus
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) for creating detailed drawings and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of materials, connectors, and components used in cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
- Experience with project management, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL, ISO).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools for validating cable and harness designs.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with SAP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Experience working with global suppliers and managing international supply chains.
- Excellent verbal, reading and written communication skills in Indonesian and English language, Mandarin is a plus.
