Global Category Manager (Ilava)
The Global Category Manager is responsible for driving global procurement strategies for Direct Materials at the Business Group level. This role focuses on cost optimization, supplier portfolio management, and strategic contract negotiation for manufacturing materials such as connectors, cables, and mechanical components. The position is critical for active risk mitigation, demand planning, and executing cost reduction programs to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development, implementation, and execution of global procurement strategies at the Business Group level for the assigned Direct Materials category or subcategories based on customer and internal stakeholder requirements, market data and trends, as well as benchmarks.
- Drafting and negotiation of relevant supplier contracts (e.g., framework agreements, quality assurance agreements, development agreements) for direct manufacturing materials such as connectors, bulk cable, drawing parts, mechanical components.
- Continuous analysis, monitoring, and optimization of cost, as well as conducting benchmarks within the responsibility area.
- Planning, preparation, execution, and completion of tenders.
- Collection and preparation of demand forecasts for global demand planning for the assigned category and subcategories.
- Identification and implementation of cost reduction programs to contribute to business group goals.
- Active risk management within the assigned category(ies).
- Expansion and maintenance of supplier relationships, as well as ensuring and defining a balanced supplier portfolio.
- Management of escalations.
Job Requirements
- English - Upper-intermediate (B2).
- Microsoft Excel - Advanced.
- Microsoft Outlook - Advanced.
- Microsoft Word - Advanced.
- Knowledge of the German language is a great advantage.
