Optical Packaging Process Engineer
BizLink is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Optical Packaging Process Engineer to drive the seamless transition of advanced optical products from New Product Introduction (NPI) to Mass Production (MP). In this comprehensive role, you will be the core technical driver responsible for establishing process flows, optimizing production layouts, and implementing automation. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers, you will ensure our optical packaging processes achieve optimal yield, efficiency, and uncompromising quality.
Key Responsibilities:
NPI (New Product Introduction) Phase:
- Establish process flows and station planning based on design drawings and BOM.
- Draft and implement initial SOP, WI, Control Plan, and PFMEA.
- Plan and validate fixtures, equipment, and measurement methods (including fixture design, DOE, and GR&R).
- Plan trial runs (EVT/DVT/PVT) and provide on-site support.
- Lead process parameter development and establish process windows.
- Troubleshoot trial run defects and implement improvements.
- Write trial run reports covering yield, CT, bottlenecks, and improvement suggestions.
MP (Mass Production) Phase:
- Establish and maintain mass production standards (SOP/CP/PFMEA).
- Monitor MP yield, Cycle Time, equipment utilization, and process capability (CP/CPK).
- Drive process improvements (Kaizen, Lean, Poka-Yoke error-proofing).
- Plan production line layout and efficiency enhancement schemes.
- Introduce automated equipment, optical measurement automation, robotic arms, and fixture optimization.
- Handle MP anomalies and provide fast, quantifiable improvement solutions.
- Assist QA and clients with 8D and defect analysis (FA/RCFA).
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Discuss DFM/DFA with RD/ME to enhance manufacturability.
- Collaborate with QA/QE on quality requirements, inspection specifications, and major defect improvements.
- Communicate with PMC/Production regarding material needs, manpower allocation, and trial run schedules.
- Cooperate with Procurement/Suppliers to validate fixtures, equipment, and key materials.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Optics, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven working experience and strong proficiency in NPI processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Intermediate proficiency in English (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) for professional technical communication.
- Solid understanding and practical application of quality and engineering tools, including SOP, CP, PFMEA, DOE, GR&R, and 8D.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen and Lean manufacturing.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication skills with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- Willingness and flexibility to undergo initial training and onboarding at the Hsinchu office for the first 3 to 6 months, followed by a permanent relocation to the Annan District facility in Tainan City
