Database Administrator
We are seeking a motivated Junior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our global DBA team. This role is ideal for someone with a mid-strong foundational knowledge of SQL Server who is highly passionate about building a long-term career in database administration. While SQL Server is your starting point, you must possess a strong ""willing-to-learn"" mindset to expand your expertise into Oracle DB. Experience with SAP HANA is a major advantage. Beyond core DBA duties, you will immediately get involved in data analytics projects and receive formal training to expand your skillset into a Data Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Maintenance: Assist in monitoring, backup/recovery, and performance tuning of SQL Server environments.
- Cross-Platform Upskilling: Actively learn and adopt Oracle DB administration tasks under senior guidance.
- Data Engineering & Analytics: Collaborate on analytics projects, building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
- Troubleshooting: Respond to database alerts, investigate query performance issues, and assist with user access requests.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for database schemas, backup policies, and system changes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior DBA, developing team, and system administration team to ensure data availability and security.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience or academic exposure to MS SQL Server management.
- Core Skills: Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries and understanding relational database concepts.
- Career Focus: Clear commitment to pursuing Database Administration as a long-term career path.
- Soft Skills: Curious mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude toward learning new technologies
