Leadership Message

In the short span of two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the daily lives of the humankind. We put on our face masks, wash hands frequently, kept social distance, opted for work from home, and avoided contact with confirmed cases as we both resisted the virus while learning to live with it. BizLink's global operations have complied with epidemic measures imposed by the local governments and strove to collaborate with customers to face the pandemic and overcome material shortages and production and logistics difficulties while emphasizing the health of our employees as our first priority. While dealing with the pandemic, we also realized that shareholders and investors have continued to pay more and more attention to corporate sustainable performance, and ESG can also act as an indicator of an enterprise's resilience.

BizLink actively protects the environment that we all share while assuming social responsibility with concrete initiatives and actions, which are described in this Sustainability Report as the following:

Ongoing Environmental Protection

The resolution from the United Nations' COP 26 climate summit in 2021 has included the specific request of "reducing the use of coal" for the first time, indicating that resistance against global warming and extreme weather, has now become a global consensus. BizLink has directly included “corporate sustainability” in our operational strategies and set targets to strengthen carbon reduction and energy conservation measures as well as increase energy utilization efficiency. Compared to the previous year (2021), BizLink has demonstrated considerable progress in our two major environmental indicators, where our greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity and energy consumption intensity have been reduced by 14.5% and 28.4%, respectively. We expanded the capacity of clean energy generation (in the form of solar power) and produced 2.2 GWh in 2022. Futhermore, we have set corporate goal to reduce 50% of total GHG emissions by 2030 (compared with 2022), and make commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Strengthening Ties with Society
BizLink is committed to social welfare around the world and have been committed to children's welfare, international medical and healthcare, building hospitals, and disease prevention, and while dealing with the challenges from the pandemic in 2021, we have also increased our efforts to give back to the society. Our donations across the world have set a new historical record at NT$9.55 million, which represents a 46% growth over 2020. The global nonprofits we support include UNICEF, World Vision, Doctors without Borders, while back in Taiwan, besides our long-term support for the R&D program of Advanced Rocket Research Center to develop R&D talents for rockets and preserving marine life at Taiwan through the Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation, we have also focused on caring for schools in remote areas that were often overlooked in 2021. By partnering with Lovely Taiwan Foundation, BizLink provided the teaching resources from the studios of Cloud Gate Dance Theater to elementary school students.

Successive Recognition for ESG Performance
We are honored that our years of dedication toward sustainable development have been recognized by the world. BizLink was selected as one of "America's Most Responsible Companies" by Newsweek, and "Best in Taiwan" by Asia Money magazine for three consecutive years. In addition, BizLink is rated by ESG ratings institution Sustainalytics as a Low Risk enterprise as well as an enterprise with "high exposure levels" by FTSE-Russel ratings institution. In 2021, we were also invited to engage in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment as an enterprise with high growth potential for the first time.

On the other hand, BizLink continues to strengthen the operations of the Board of Directors and information transparency, and enhance stakeholder engagement. BizLink was ranked among the top 5% in the 8th Corporate Governance Evaluation conducted by TWSE in 2022, and also selected as a constituent of the TWSE Corporate Governance 100 Index for the 7th year in a row.

Conclusion
We are grateful to our diligent employees throughout the world, as well as all the attention from our customers, suppliers, investors, industry partners, competent authorities, media and press, communities, and schools. By integrating our core competencies with material sustainable issues and setting specific action plans, BizLink has implemented these actions via cross-organizational platforms and demonstrated positive values in corporate sustainability. Going forward, we will continue to focus on our core businesses and on sustainable growth. On top of creating a fair work environment for employees, maintaining unimpeded channels of communication with stakeholders, and striving to reduce GHG emissions, we will also achieve greater energy efficiency and resource management in order to become a benchmark in sustainable development both for industries and for the society.
