DisplayPort™
is a new digital display interface standard put forth by the
Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). DisplayPort will
be the next generation digital interface designed to replace
VGA, LVDS and DVI. With a unified internal and external display
interface it addresses emerging PC requirement with reduced
complexity and scalable performance in
terms
of resolution, color depth and refresh rate over fewer wires.
BizLink's
DisplayPort cables could also come as halogen-free.
Features
-
Technology:
DisplayPort consists of 4 main links, one Auxiliary channel
and one Hot-plug signal line.
- Main Link: AC-coupled,
doubly terminated differential pairs (lanes) with a Rate of
2.7Gbps giving a capacity of 10.8Gbps per 4 lanes.
- DisplayPort Content
Protection: DPCO provides AES type high speed 128-bit content
encryption with secure modern ciphers.
- DP Power: With more than
1.5W both on source and sink, connector powered dongles are
possible at both ends.
- Cable Assembly: Support for
full bandwidth over 3 meter of cable, and a max of 1080p
resolution at 24bpp, 50/60Hz over a 15 meter cable.

Cable Assemblies and Dongles
BizLink’s
DisplayPort series consists of a ordinary DisplayPort to
DisplayPort cable assembly and a DisplayPort to DisplayPort
panel-side internal connector cable assembly. In addition
BizLink also have two types of dongles.
These two dongles are: 1)Active protocol converter for DisplayPort to dual-link DVI and DisplayPort to analogue VGA.
2)Active level shifter with dual mode devices for DisplayPort to
single-link DVI and DisplayPort to HDMI Type A. The dongles can
be pigtail-design, coupler-design or sink side cable adaptor
design.
Features
-
Compliant
with DisplayPort 1.1 specification for 1.62 and 2.7Gbps.
- Compliant with Digital
Visual Interface (DVI) version 1.0 specification.
- Compliant with HDMI 1.3a
specification up to 2.25 Gbps
- Support Dual Mode DP & HDMI/DVI
Source with active DDC buffering
- Support single link DVI and
dual link DVI with an additional built in active protocol
converter.
- HDMI Repeater function could
support up to 20 meters

Connectors
The
DisplayPort connector has an optional latching feature to
prevent ”cable fall-off”. With its 20-pin it also include a
mulit-purpose power pin, this power pin is intended to enable an
active dongle for extending the cable length or enable a legacy
converter for interoperability. BizLink manufacture these
connectors for cable assemblies and dongles. These connectors
are: Cable mount with or without latches. Board mount DIP type
and Board mount SMT type with flange.
